In a reprieve for embattled Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday stayed his arrest till October four in two separate cases of murder and rape.

Justice L N Mittal gave the order on an anticipatory bail plea moved by the head of the Sirsa-based sect.

The Dera head had been accused by the CBI of two murders -- Dera manager Ranjit Singh and scribe Ram Chander Chattarapati -- besides rape of his disciple. The charges were framed against him in July this year.
