Shiv Sena executive president Udhav Thackeray said the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party would be contesting the 2009 Assembly polls in Maharashtra together.

Speaking at a function in Mumbai on Thursday evening to felicitate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Udhav jocularly remarked that the BJP-Sena alliance was "not glued by fevicol, but by the strong bond of Hindutva."

To buttress the good relation between BJP and Sena, Udhav quoted the song from Sholay [Images] 'Yeh dosti hum nahin todenge'.

Downplaying the rift between the two parties on the presidential elections, Udhav said it was "nothing serious" and all was now well between them.
