Scores of Sikh activists on Tuesday blocked the busy Ludhiana-New Delhi rail route to protest Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim's alleged insult to Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.

About 100 protestors blocked the rail track at 1115 IST, raising slogans against the Dera chief. The police however successfully persuaded them off the track in half an hour.

A railway official said the services were not disrupted despite the protest.
