Fourteen Indians, abducted by pirates off the coast of Somalia a month back, have been released along with their hijacked vessel.

All the abductees are safe and are on their way to Oman, External Affairs ministry said in New Delhi on Friday.

Al Aqeek was hijacked by Somali pirates on May 24, the ministry said, adding the vessel will offload cargo at Kismayu port in Somalia before heading for Muscat.

The ministry said the Department of Shipping had put out an advisory last year asking Indian vessels to avoid Somali waters.
