Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday indicated that his party could consider supporting A P J Abdul Kalam if he agrees to run for a second term as President.

"We are ready to support Kalam. Once he agrees for a second term, efforts will be made for a consensus in the National Democratic Alliance in this regard," he told newsmen in Raipur at Mana airport.

The BJP chief's indication comes at a time when Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has already hinted that he may withdraw from the presidential election if there was a consensus on President Kalam as suggested by the Third Front.
