An eight-year-old boy was arrested on charges of strangling his neighbour's six-month-old daughter in a village in Bihar's Begusarai district.

The police claim that Amardeep Sada has been charged with strangling and then smashing the child's head with a brick before burying her body at Manopurmusahari village in Begusarai district on Tuesday.

The boy then told the girl's parents and villagers that he had "put her to sleep", before leading them to her body, the sources said.

A case was lodged with the police here charging the boy.

The boy's uncle admitted that he had earlier killed another infant sister of his six months ago and a cousin about a year ago.

Amardeep when asked by newsmen why he had killed so brutally just smiled back.
