In yet another case of stress, a woman army officer committed suicide on Monday by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her official residence in Kunjawani army camp in the outskirts of Jammu, top defence sources said.

Captain Megha Razdan of 113 Engineering Regiment (Electrical and Mechanical Engineer) committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan by a bed sheet around 0730 hours on Monday at the army camp, they said.

As there was no response when Razdan's attendant knocked on her door, authorities broke into the house and found her hanging from the fan, sources said.

She was shifted to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The captain had some problems with her immediate officers in the unit and a court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident, they said.

She was married just four months ago to Captain Chaitanya of Maharashtra who was dealing with chemical and biological warfare of EME.

General Officer Commanding Tiger Division Major General L Loomba and others senior army officers visited the site.
