Film actor Sanjay Dutt [Images], a 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict out on bail, on Monday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi [Images] in Delhi.

Dutt, who was released from the Yervada Jail in Pune recently, called on Sonia a day after she celebrated her 62nd birthday.

The film star was closeted at the Gandhi residence for about 50 minutes.

Dutt was granted bail by the Supreme Court on November 27 after he was sentenced to six years imprisonment by the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court in July, in connection with the Mumbai serial bomb blasts.
