eader S Muruganandam says: in Tamil Nadu Navratri is also celebrated. The first three days Mother Sakthi is worshipped as Maha Durga. The next three days as Maha Lakshmi and last three days as Maha Saraswathi, and the tenth day is Vijaya Dasami.
In our homes we arrange dolls on steps called Kolu. In temples, every night, on all nine days Mother is decorated with special alangarams.
This is a Maha Durga alangaram. You must visit to have a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage associated with these temples. Beautiful gods are decorated with flowers, chariots and murals.
