In Indian tradition, the teacher, guru, ranks right up there, next to one's parents.

And with good reason, too. For it is the teacher who shepherds us through the ignorant years, dispelling the darkness in the mind with the light of knowledge, and equips us with the tools needed to face the world outside.

Without exception all of us owe what we are, at least in part, to our teachers. And naturally, all of us have our very own fond teacher from the many who coached us.

It could have been a convent sister who made Shakespeare unforgettable. Or the math professor who provided us the grounding in geometry. Or the mad history teacher who made the Middle Ages come alive.

On Teachers' Day, share your memories about your special teacher with us!
