J&K: 7 soldiers injured in ambush

Seven army soldiers were injured in a militant ambush at Kansipora near Baramulla town, 54 km from Srinagar [Images] on Friday afternoon.

Police said militants sprayed bullets at a passing convoy resulting in injuries to seven armymen.

Troops escorting the convoy also returned fire.

The injured soldiers were taken to an army hospital for treatment.

The condition of one soldier is stated to be critical.

The area has been cordoned off by security forces, sources said adding, the convoy was on its way from Srinagar to Baramulla.
