A date with the Taj

'The Taj was breathtaking. I hated to leave,' Bill Clinton wrote in his memoirs My Life. Seeing the Taj Mahal was a lifelong ambition, the American president confessed, when he first visited Agra in March 2000 with daughter Chelsea.

Private Citizen Clinton was back at the Taj in 2003 (left) for another look.

The Clintons are frequent Taj visitors. Hillary and Chelsea viewed the monument in 1995 even before Bill got there.
