Moderate quake rocks Northeast

A moderate quake measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale rocked parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and adjoining states at 0135 hrs on Friday.

Epicentered at latitude 27.2 degree (north) and longitude 92 degree (east), the quake was mainly felt on the Indo-Bhutan border near Arunachal Pradesh, Shillong Central Seismological Observatory Centre told UNI here.

Reports from Guwahati said two successive jolts were felt in Assam following the tremors. The Meghalaya capital also felt its impact.

Report of no damage to life and property was received so far.
