A fresh confrontation between the Communists and yoga guru Ramdev was sparked off with a Jharkhand Communist Party of India leader filing a PIL against a government circular asking school children and teachers to attend special yoga sessions.

Assistant secretary of the CPI's state unit, Khangendr Thakur filed the PIL, challenging a reported circular issued by the Ranchi district administration on February 19 asking teachers on February 22 and school children on February 23 to attend special yoga sessions at Ramdev's camp.

The PIL was filed Monday and is yet to be listed.

"I don't understand why the Communists have a headache with yoga. It is time now for a split in the Communist ideology -- one of supporters with nationalist feelings and the other which has adopted Maosim, Leninism and Marxism," Ramdev said at the camp being attended by thousands of people including Chief Minister Arjun Munda.

Ramdev recalled his statements during confrontation with CPI-M Politburo member Brinda Karat who had alleged his Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust of using bones and human parts in its ayurvedic medicines.

The CPI leader said he was not against yoga but against the government's imposition on children ahead of their examinations.
