The Punjab and Haryana High Court will on Wednesday decide upon the quantum of punishment to be awarded to former cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Sidhu arrived at the court in Sector-1, Chandigarh at 0955 hours along with his lawyers U U Lalit and Arun Jaitley. A two-judge bench comprising Justice M S Gill and Justice Baldev Singh is hearing the arguments to decide upon the quantum of punishment.
The court, had on December one, convicted Sidhu for causing the death of a Patiala resident following a scuffle in 1988. He faces a maximum punishment of ten years imprisonment.
