Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad released the first list of his party's candidates on Friday for 51 of the 61 assembly constituencies going to polls in the first phase in Bihar on October 18.

After releasing the list, Lalu told mediapersons in Patna that the United Progressive Alliance would announce a common minimum programme on October 4.

He said RJD and UPA's focus in the polls will be on development and communal harmony.

"We have realised that if we will not perform well to the expectation of people, we will be shown the door. So our thrust will be over all development of state," Lalu said.

Lalu said his party would work to bring Dalits, backward castes and Muslims to maintream if return to power.

The RJD supremo refused to comment on the Supreme Court stand on a case related to dissolution of the Bihar assembly.
