Indian envoy in Dubai passes away

Manav Hansda, Consul (Passports) at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, died of a massive heart attack. He was 55 and is survived by wife and two sons.

The official died at his residence after he returned home from office Monday night.

A native of West Bengal, Hansda joined the Ministry of External Affairs at its foreign office in 1973 and has since served at several stations in India and abroad.

The body of Hansda will be flown to Kolkata on Wednesday.
