Lok Janshakti Party leader and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi [Images] in New Delhi, official sources said.

During the 30-minute meeting, Paswan is understood to have apprised her of the political situation in Bihar, the sources added.

The meeting comes as part of Paswan's efforts to seek support of like-minded parties to form a government in Bihar, now under President's rule.

Last week Paswan met Communist Party of India General Secretary A B Bardhan and National Congress Party president Sharad Pawar [Images] separately as part of his ongoing exercise.

LJP has 29 members of Legislative Assembly in the Bihar assembly, which has been kept under suspended animation after a fractured verdict in the elections.
