Storm kills 13 in Bihar

At least 13 people have been killed in a storm, which also damaged crops and houses on a large scale, in Bihar, official sources said on Sunday.

Five people were crushed to death on Saturday night when a tree fell on them while they were travelling on a tractor-trailer in Madhepura town, police said.

Another five people were killed in different areas of Supual district on Saturday night due to collapse of houses. While two deaths were reported from Mungrar, one each was reported in Basviki, Siprakhurd and Triveniganj villages, District Magistrate Kumar Anand told reporters.

A woman and a three-year-old child died due to wall collapse in Papilabhasa village under Pothia block of Kisanganj district, while another death was reported from Buttibhandi village under Thakurganj block of the district, sources said.
