Former Union minister Sanjay Paswan on Thursday joined the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Paswan's entry into RJD is being seen as a shot in the arm of Lalu.

Paswan joined the RJD in Lalu's presence at a function organised to mark the birth anniversary of former chief minister
Bhola Paswan Shastri.

Paswan in August resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party protesting against the 2002 Gujarat riots.
