Exam centre shifted due to copying

March 18, 2004 17:13 IST

The Gujarat Education Board has overnight shifted an examination centre for HSC students following complaints of excessive copying.

Examination centre no 23 at S R High School in Devgadhbaria was shifted to St Stephen school in Dahod town after 22 cases of copying were detected on Wednesday, Dahod District Education Officer K T Purania said in Ahmedabad.

The decision has upset the 280-odd students of science stream, who now have to cover the additional distance in the hot weather, sources at Devgadhbaria said.

However, the exam centre for commerce and arts students will remain in Devgadhbaria and will be conducted at Nutan High School, the official said.
