Balwinder Singh, a nephew of Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram, on Wednesday alleged that the former party chief was kept in confinement by Mayawati and there was 'a conspiracy to exterminate Ram at any time'.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Singh charged that the conspiracy to eliminate Kanshi Ram had started in September last year.

He alleged that no relative, including Ram's mother, was being allowed to meet the former party chief.

He said Ram's relative and Bahujan Samaj Seva Sansthan would move the Supreme Court against the order of Delhi high court, which had  dismissed the petition filed by Kanshi Ram's mother Bishen Kaur and his two brothers alleging that no relative was being allowed to meet himand that there was a conspiracy to eliminate the foremr BSP chief.

The high court's dismissal of the petition came after Kanshi Ram had told a Registrar appointed by it that he was staying at Mayawati's place on his own free will.

He alleged that Mayawati had sold Rs 5.91 crore worth of land in Noida, UP, belonging to the foundation.

BSP spokesman Sudhir Goel, when contacted, declined to comment on the charges levelled by Balwinder Singh.
