Chief Secretary K A H Subramanian told rediff.com on Friday that the suspension orders were issued after receiving reports from district magistrates.

"Some district magistrates have not sent in their reports. More suspensions are likely...the guilty will not be spared," Subramanian said.

Bihar is battling one of the worst floods in recent memory. Over 2 crore people have been affected and over 800 have died.

"All the 40 doctors suspended were found missing from their duty areas," Subramanian said.
