Manish Arora: Funky, funny designs

Priya Ganapati in New Delhi | April 29, 2004

Sheetal Mallar in Manish AroraWith dazzling prints of cartoon characters, kitschy lines like Fish Fry and Jab Hum Jawan Honge Jaane Kahan Honge and bright fluourescent colours, Manish Arora's collection was very funky and only for those who like to wear clothes that reflect a strong sense of humour.

Manish, who is known for his funky designs, showed a womenswear line with flared skirts, body suits, jackets, sweaters and corsets.

It was a collection that provoked strong reactions.

You love or hate the large animated prints -- one line even had Manish's caricature printed on it -- and the extremely bright oranges and lime greens.

Manish used a variety of knits, ribs, silk, net, polyester lycra, georgette and fleece to create a look that was humorous and very bohemian.

The collection is priced between Rs 950 and Rs 9,450 and will retail at his signature stores.
