Amma's disciples are rich and poor, young and old. Celebrities from business, politics and religion have converged in Kochi to attend the Amritavarsham 50 celebrations.
All hotels located in Kochi and within 12 square kilometres of it were booked by the Ashram several months ahead of the event, for devotees both from India and abroad. In addition, marriage halls, auditoriums, schools and colleges in Ernakulam district are used to accommodate the more than 100,000 devotees expected to attend the four-day celebrations.
