"Both sides discussed matters with candour and warmth," Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri told reporters.

"The issue of sending troops for a stabilisation force in Iraq was certainly discussed and Pakistan reiterated its principled position," Kasuri said.

Musharraf is scheduled to meet President George W Bush on Tuesday.

On Indian External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha's statement on Musharraf's comments on elimination of terrorism,
Kasuri was quoted as saying by Pakistan's official APP news agency: "I can also issue a matching strong rebuttal, but I will not use the cheap street language indulged into by Sinha."
