Parbhani's backlash in Nanded

Police fired three rounds in the air and lobbed tear gas shells after an irate mob on Saturday pelted stones at shops and a theatre in the pilgrim town of Nanded in a show of anger against Friday's blasts in a mosque in nearby Parbhani that left 38 injured.

Curfew has been clamped in the town.

In Parbhani, however, curfew imposed on Friday immediately after the blast, was relaxed in some areas.

Special Inspector General of Police B N Raut told PTI in Nanded that the situation is now under control.

Investigators said two masked men riding a motorbike had lobbed the crude bombs into the mosque in Parbhani during Friday prayers.

No arrests have been made so far and the situation in Parbhani is tense but under control, a senior police officer said.
