The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday asked its workers to fan out in 'every nook and corner' of the four Congress-ruled states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Delhi.

The states are scheduled to go to polls later this year.

The Central Election Committee of the party said the thrust of the poll campaign in the four states will be development and governance.

The two-hour-long meeting was chaired by party president Venkaiah Naidu and attended among others by the committee convener Pramod Mahajan and party general secretary and spokesman Muqtar Abbas Naqvi.

The decisions of the meeting will get a final ratification at the next week's chintan (brainstorming) session of the party near Mumbai. The meeting also decided to bring a white paper against the four Congress governments by August.

Naqvi said the party will also highlight the 'corruption, scandals and failures' of the state governments.

Naqvi, who ignored a question if the issues will include Ayodhya, said cow slaughter issue will be a 'major election plank' in some states.

He also refused to comment on who will lead the party in Chhattisgarh.
