'He is a genius'



Kora, in Bengali, means unbleached. For those unfamiliar with Sabyasachi's work, here are some quick facts: he was the find of India Fashion Week 2002. He was winner of the Femina Young Designer Award. His work is liberally splashed with colours of every hue you can imagine.

That is why his unbleached cream and white ensembles came as a surprise at the India Fashion Week 2003.

Heavily inspired by the English peasant girl, his muslin and gauze dresses were relaxed, soothing and etched with the flair of a skilled artisan. As designer Tarun Tahiliani said, "He is a genius."
