Vajpayee opens Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Tuesday dedicated the first phase of Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway to the nation at a simple ceremony on Ahmedabad's outskirts.

The 43 km stretch of the expressway is a part of the ambitious National Highways Development Project.

Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani was the chief guest at the function, while Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Major General B C Khanduri presided over the function.
