Five firemen injured in fire at Ahmedabad industrial estate

Five firemen, including an officer, were injured on Thursday in a major fire that broke out in the industrial area of Narol on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, fire brigade sources said.

The fire, that broke out at Balaji Estate at around 1200 IST, is still raging and fire tenders have rushed to the spot, the sources said.

Divisional Fire Officer N J Mod and at least four fire-fighters received burn injuries while trying to douse the flames, the sources said adding that all the injured officials have been rushed to LG Hospital for treatment

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, they said adding it appeared some of the approximately 30 barrels of turpentine oil stocked the estate were in flames.
