The Ganesh Mandal at Spring Mill Compound, Naigaon, northcentral Mumbai, is among the more popular Ganapatis in Mumbai. The Mandal has won awards for its themes at many Ganeshotsav competitions.
Bhau Ambe, chairman of the Spring Mill Compound Mandal, said they will seek help from the Kidwai Nagar police station nearby for security arrangements.
The Mandal's 350-member volunteer force will also maintain a round-the-clock vigil.
