IAF corporal arrested on spying charges

The Delhi police have arrested an Indian Air Force corporal on charges of espionage and seized some 'secret defence-related' documents from him.

Hari Ram Sharma, posted in the technical area of the Delhi Airport, was arrested on Thursday in the Chanakyapuri area when he was on his way to pass on the secret documents to a staffer of the Pakistan high commission, Assistant Commissioner of Police (special cell) L N Rao said.

The corporal was in touch with the Pakistani staffer for the past one year, Rao added. Sharma had been booked under the Official Secrets Act, the ACP said.
