Sharma's judicial custody extended
by 14 days

A Delhi court on Tuesday extended by 14 days the judicial custody of senior Indian Police Service officer Ravi Kant Sharma, prime accused in the murder of journalist Shivani Bhatnagar.

Metropolitan Magistrate J P Narayan also remanded the others accused in the case, Pradeep Sharma, Sri Bhagwan Sharma, Satya Prakash, Ved Prakash Sharma and Ved, alias Kalu, to judicial custody for the same period till November 5.

The court, however, declined a request by Sharma's family members to meet him in the court lockup, but allowed his counsels to do so.

This is the second 14-day judicial remand given to Sharma, the last being on October 8.
