Court allows family to meet R K Sharma

A Delhi court on Tuesday allowed the family of R K Sharma, suspended Indian Police Service officer and prime suspect in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, to meet him for 10 minutes every day.

These meetings will be subject to the condition that they shall not obstruct the investigation, the court said.

The court also allowed the investigative officer to decide whether the family should be allowed to meet Sharma in case he is taken out of Delhi.

The court also told the officer that the visitors should be searched thoroughly before each meeting. "Applicants should be empty-handed at the time of meeting the accused," the order said.

Madhu Sharma had earlier alleged that the police had not allowed her to meet her husband on Saturday despite a court order to that effect.
