Delhi Fire Service officials told UNI that the fire broke out around 1130 hrs on the seventh floor of the building.
The office of the Information and Broadcasting ministry is located on the seventh floor.
Officials said the fire appears to be of medium intensity.
At least 10 fire tenders were dispatched the control the blaze.
Other ministries housed in the building include that of law and justice, coal and mines, HRD, petroleum, external affairs and chemicals and fertilizers.
