Arson, stone throwing incidents in Ahmedabad

Violence in Ahmedabad city continued unabated as arson and stone throwing incidents were reported from Nagorivad locality under Shahpur police station area on Wednesday morning.

A group of people pelted stones and set fire to a house in the locality, which is in a curfew-bound area, police said.

Curfew, which was relaxed from 0900 to 1200 hours only for women, was re-imposed as tension prevailed in the area.

Curfew was relaxed in phases in six other police station areas of the city during the day only for women to enable them by buy essential commodities.

Curfew continues to remain in force in Viramgam town, police said.
