Advani not to celebrate Holi

Union Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani has decided not to celebrate Holi this year in view of Gujarat violence in which many people lost their lives.

Last year too, Advani did not play Holi following the Gujarat earthquake. He has, however, wished the people a happy Holi.

The home minister expressed the hope that the festival would bring peace, prosperity and happiness to the people and promote communal harmony.
