Natasha's lawyer refutes cancer theory

Onkar Singh in New Delhi

Natasha Singh's advocate, Malvika Rajkotia, has refuted media reports that her client committed suicide as she was suffering from cancer.

"I have seen the newspaper reports saying that Natasha had a tumour in her uterus. If she had any such problem then I would have known about it," Rajkotia told rediff.com on Tuesday.

Several newspapers had carried reports that Natasha was depressed because she was suffering from cancer.

"I am sure that these rumours are being floated by those who are under investigation," a senior woman lawyer of Delhi high court said.

Pinky Anand, a leading woman lawyer, however, thought that the suicide theory was more plausible.

"When you have suicidal tendencies you could do strange things. The fact that she chose a hotel shows that she was under depression," Anand reasoned.

Meanwhile, the police refused to divulge the details of the second post-mortem.

However, police sources told rediff.com that the doctors, who conducted the second post-mortem, have decided to visit the place where Natasha's body was found, before giving their opinion.

"We have submitted our findings and it is up to the police to tell you the contents," one of the doctors on the three-member panel, who conducted the post-mortem, told journalists on Monday night.

After the second post-mortem, Natasha's body has been handed over to her relatives and she would be cremated on Tuesday afternoon at the Lodhi Road crematorium.
