Violence in Ahmedabad, two killed

Two persons were killed and eleven injured in renewed violence during the wee hours of Saturday in Ahmedabad.

Police opened fire to disperse a mob resulting in the death of one person and injuries to eight others in Dudeshwar locality of Madhupura police station area.

One person died in violence in Dariapur locality while three persons were injured in the Edgah Chowki area, police said.

The authorities have imposed indefinite curfew in Madhupura and Dariapur.

A nephew of a Congress MP was killed and nine others were injured in separate incidents of violence that rocked the city on Friday, prompting the authorities to clamp indefinite curfew in Karanj, Kalupur and Shahpur areas.

Meanwhile, the army and Rapid Action Force conducted flag march in the curfew-bound localities of Baroda on Saturday, even as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere since Friday night.

The situation was under control, police commissioner Deendayal Tuteja said

One person was killed and three others were injured in police firing on Friday. The injured were being treated at the government-owned SSG hospital.
