Officials from the Foreign Regional Registration Office questioned Perry, who was summoned for possessing two British passports, for around ten minutes.
"He has no restrictions. He can move freely within India. There won't be any further questioning," Perry's lawyer Lalit Bhasin said.
The FRRO officials also told Perry to inform them as a matter of courtesy if he was leaving the country, Bhasin said.
However, Perry was appreciative of the Indian democracy. "It is unlike other Asian countries where you write anything against the government and you are kicked out."
About his three passports, Perry said, "I explained to them that they were only part of continuing travel document, which could be verified from the British authorities."
To a question whether he intended to leave the country, he said, "No, not at all. I am highly impressed with the Indian democracy."
One June 21, FRRO had questioned Perry for nearly 90 minutes.
