Japan tells Pakistan to stop infiltration

Japan on Tuesday told Pakistan to prevent infiltration across the Line of Control and carrying out terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

This was conveyed to Pakistan when Japanese Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi spoke over telephone to her Pakistani counterpart Abdul Sattar, who is in Almaty attending the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, Kyodo news agency reported.

Kawaguchi, expressing concern over the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, said Tokyo would continue to call on India to seek diplomatic solution to the situation and to resume dialogue with Pakistan.
