Dense fog throws life out of gear in Delhi

December 26, 2002 10:34 IST

Dense fog engulfed several parts of the national capital throwing normal life out of gear. Airport sources said that neither any flight had taken off or landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport since morning because of the dense fog.

Some trains were also delayed due to poor visibility.

Traffic was also moving at a snail's pace with drivers preferring to switch on the headlights.

Meteorological office sources said the fog has settled in the capital because of north-westerly disturbance moving from Jammu and Kashmir that had now settled in and around the areas in Rajasthan.
