Delhi University teacher shot dead

A Delhi University teacher was shot dead by an unidentified assailant at the Shradhanand College in north Delhi on Friday.

M N Singh, 49, a reader in the Botany department of the college, was rushed to the Jaipur Golden hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjit Narayan said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the assailant after inquiring about Singh from students and college staff went to the first floor, where he was sitting, and shot him point blank.

Narayan said police haven't yet been able to establish any motive for the killing.
