Bomb scare near ITO in Delhi

December 09, 2002 12:18 IST

Two buildings in the busy ITO area were evacuated on Monday morning following a call that bombs had been placed there.

An unidentified person called up the private security guards of Ghulab Bhavan and Milap Bhavan in the press area at around 1000 IST saying that bombs had been placed there, DCP (Central) Arvind Deep told PTI.

The guards immediately informed the police, which evacuated the buildings and cordoned off the area, he said.

Police, assisted by a bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs, searched the premises of the buildings. Nothing had turned up at the time this report was filed.
