Police seek permission to search Vaiko's houses

The Tamil Nadu police on Monday moved a special court set up to try POTA cases seeking warrants for searching the residences of MDMK leader and MP V Gopalaswamy, popularly known as Vaiko.

Vaiko had been arrested under POTA in July for his pro-LTTE views.

The Q branch of the police, which handles POTA cases, sought the warrants from POTA judge Rajendran to search Vaiko's residence in Chennai and another outside the metropolis, police sources said.
