40 injured in fresh violence in Ahmedabad; army called out

The army was called out in Ahmedabad on Friday night as members of two communities clashed leaving 40 people wounded.

Twenty-five shops and houses were also set on fire in Danilimda locality.

The army was rushed to the locality to help the police contain violence, which erupted in the morning.

Authorities imposed curfew in the evening as violence continued unabated in the area.

Mobs indulged in stone pelting in Dhruvnagar and Sonal Park localities of Danilimda police station area.
