Orissa communists want dismissal of Modi government

Giridhar Gopal in Bhubaneswar

Communists in Orissa have demanded the dismissal of the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat for the deterioration of law and order situation in that state.

"The attack on Narmada Bachao movement's leader Medha Patkar and the recent attack on media men in Gujarat clearly demonstrated the kind of situation prevailing in that state," the secretary of the Orissa unit of the Communist Party of India-Marxist, Janardan Pati, said on Tuesday.

"Peace will not return to the state unless Chief Minister Narendra Modi is ousted. We demand dismissal of the Modi government," he said.
