Ghosh wins $ 50,000 Grand prize
at Frankfurt eBook Awards

Indian author Amitav Ghosh has bagged the $ 50,000 Grand prize at the Frankfurt eBook Awards for his novel dealing with love and war, The Glass Palace.

Ghosh won the award, instituted for the first time to recognise achievements in the emerging eBook industry, in the category of fiction.

In the non-fiction category, Steven Levy was chosen for the Grand prize of $ 50,000 for his work, Crypto, detailing the revolution in cryptography and its implications for privacy and safety.

The winners were selected from a field that included entries from e-publishers, independents and large and small publishers alike. The winners were named at a ceremony held at the Old Opera House in Frankfurt, according to a release issued on Tuesday by the International eBook Award Foundation.
