Manipur Governor asks
CM to seek trust vote

Manipur Governor Ved Prakash Marwah Wednesday asked Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam to seek a vote of confidence within seven days.

A Raj Bhavan release said the governor directed Koijam to seek the vote of confidence at the earliest and not later than seven days from Wednesday.

Koijam told PTI that the Governor's direction followed his letter requesting summoning of an assembly session to enable him to seek the vote of confidence on the floor of the House in view of the political situation in the state.

The chief minister said a cabinet meeting would be convened in few days to decide the date for the vote of confidence and the governor would be accordingly informed.

Koijam asserted there was no threat to the front ministry headed by him.
